SurePoint Ag is thrilled to spotlight our exceptional group of summer interns for 2024. This year, we welcomed a diverse and talented cohort of interns who have made significant contributions across our various departments, furthering our mission to innovate and lead in the agriculture technology industry. These young professionals have worked diligently, embracing both hands-on projects and the day-to-day operations that keep SurePoint Ag at the forefront of the industry.
Andrew Bretz, Mechanical Engineering Intern
Andrew "Drew" Bretz is from Hoxie, Kansas, and is currently pursuing a dual BS/MS degree in Mechanical Engineering at Kansas State University. This summer, Drew has been deeply involved in several design projects, including developing a 3D printable wire spooler for SurePoint Electronics, collecting corn seed spacing data for the SPA planter, and starting a remodel of the Chem-Blade ES slim. Outside of work, Drew enjoys fishing, all things sports, and gaming with friends.
Adam Pageler, Mechanical Engineering Intern
Adam Pageler, a Wamego, Kansas native, is preparing to enter his senior year in Mechanical Engineering at Kansas State University. Adam has brought a wealth of experience from his previous internships, including roles at Steel and Pipe Supply and Rtech Tool and Machine. At SurePoint, he has been working closely with the mechanical engineering team, designing parts from scratch, testing pumps and systems, and creating 3D models. In his downtime, Adam enjoys riding ATVs, hunting, fishing, golfing, and working on his truck. He grew up with a love for the outdoors and values his time spent on the family farm.
Ethan Fleming, Inside Sales Intern
Ethan Fleming, from Shawnee, Kansas, is a junior at Kansas State University, studying Agriculture Technology Management with a minor in Business. This summer, Ethan's role as a Sales Intern involved sharing his expertise in SurePoint's product offerings, assisting customers with technical support, testing products, and engaging in technical writing. His background in farm and electrician apprenticeship work has given him a solid foundation for this role. Ethan spends his free time outside unless he is playing his guitar. You can find him deer hunting, fishing, or even just exploring.
Jack McArthur, Mechanical Engineering Intern
Jack McArthur, a sophomore from Trenton, NE, has been a dynamic addition to our Mechanical Engineering team. Jack has focused on creating innovative designs for existing products and developing new solutions to address specific challenges. His work includes testing and identifying bottlenecks in pump systems to enhance product performance. With a keen interest in cars and a new passion for remote control vehicles, Jack also enjoys playing golf and frisbee golf. His connection to SurePoint was strengthened through his mother, who works in our electronics division.
Andrew Anderson, Computer Science NexGen Intern
Andrew Anderson dove into the world of computer science with his internship at SurePoint. Andrew learned how to code in various programming languages to interface with hardware, gaining valuable skills that will serve him well in his future studies. Outside of work, Andrew enjoys reading, gaming, and contributing to his family farm. He shares his home in Ludell, KS with two brothers, a half-brother, and a notably "wide" cat named Stripes.
Brandon Chvatal, Technical Writer and Support Intern
Brandon Chvatal, a Kansas State University student majoring in Sales with a minor in Agronomy, joined us as a Technical Writer and Support Intern. Brandon's role involves crafting and revising product manuals and assisting with customer support. His previous experience as a farm hand and his interest in sports, including attending K-State games and golfing, have provided him with a strong background that complements his work at SurePoint. Brandon lives in Manhattan, KS, where he enjoys spending time with his friends.
Asa Popp, Computer Science NexGen Intern
Asa Popp, currently pursuing his high school diploma, explored the field of computer science through his internship at SurePoint. Despite his lack of professional experience, Asa was eager to learn and contribute to the team. He enjoys video gaming, participating in mission trips, and being a member of the National Honor Society. Asa has one older brother and a fluffy cat at his home in Atwood, KS.
Logan Hayward, Embedded Systems Engineering Intern
Logan Hayward, an undergraduate student at Kansas State University majoring in Computer Science and Cybersecurity, joined us as an Embedded Systems Engineering Intern. Logan was responsible for programming hardware to meet specific requirements and functionality. His previous roles include serving as an undergrad teaching assistant and a research assistant, and he aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world applications. Outside of work, Logan enjoys lifting weights, playing basketball, and engaging in various clubs and organizations at K-State. He hails from Oberlin, KS, and values the opportunity to work close to home.
Daniel Abbott, Embedded Systems Engineering Intern
Daniel Abbott, our Embedded Systems Intern from Ellinwood, KS is currently studying at Wichita State University. He gained valuable experience working under Dirk Ricker at SurePoint Ag. His role involved developing microcontrollers, bringing his previous experience from NetApp's Interoperability Team into play. Outside of work, Daniel enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, and playing video games. He shares his home with his beloved cat, Special Agent Dale Cooper.
